Blogger custom domain?

I was browsing the blogger and found there is a custom domain feature for blogspot blog. Instead of 'yourblog.blogspot.com' you can make 'yourblog.com' with custom domain. This cost $10 per year. have anyone tried that?

I thought it's free,if it cost you $10,it's more expensive,you'd better buy your own hosting and use the flexible wordpress to configure your own blog,that's better

Thanks for your suggestion, but can you give some details how much it would cost if I use wordpress along with separate web hosting. I heard wordpress cost $17, that is more than $10.

$50 for what? I have surfed the custom domain option in blogger and it says it will cost $10/year only. And if I buy from Godaddy it will cost even less , just $2.99/year. Because I have to buy only domain, blogger provides hosting absolutely free. But I am not able to do that because of my Paypal is not linked with Credit card
